Lasix is NOT nephrotoxic 🫘. Please retweet so we can end this myth once and for all 🦄. Rising creatinine is more often an indicator of inadequate Lasix dosing than excessive!!. Lasix can only harm the kidneys if it decreases cardiac output by dropping preload to the point of

I really hope that nephrologists are realizing that and abandoning "hypertensive kidney disease" as a diagnosis.
For Kidney Health Advocates- lets all get on the same page: 1) only <5% of incident CKD is caused by HTN;2) progression of CKD can be slowed by treatment of HTN when proteinuria is concomitantly present; 3) HTN is mostly consequent to CKD, not caused by CKD.

It’s my hope it’s abandoned before I retire:).
@arkanalabs I look forward to the day we abandon the term "hypertensive nephrosclerosis". I no longer use it as a clinical diagnosis, I say "CKD associated with HTN", unless I know pt has 2 high risk APOL1 genotypes, then I call it APOL1 related renal disease - A1RRD.
