Counterpoint: Both things can be true. The economy can be in rough shape, and as a result, nobody feels the juice of Vegas is worth the squeeze because now they're wise to the game of Vegas as a whole, instead of buying into the illusion, the promise that "you can win it big!".
Vegas isn't dying because of the economy. It's dying because it's an unwalkable hell that's designed to trap you in casinos. And since gambling has become normalized and available everywhere, Vegas' unique selling point isn't unique anymore.

It's hard when the reductionist position dilutes the "other side" into perceived untrustworthy and prejudicial elements, preventing meaningful dialogue from ever occurring. If we're not unified as Americans first. Oh just go see what Lincoln said like 150 years ago.

I remember the "No Kings" 'protests' several months back. I talk with many center to far left folk every day. The week of the protest, I asked every one of them if they were going. Not one yes, and the biggest cited reason was "You knoooow, I really marched and protested a lot.

Vegas itself was a massive casino in an otherwise nigh inhospitable land. Hollywood needed a low-tax entertainment hub within reasonable driving distance. How's LA doing these days? Hollywood in general?. The money is gone. It's what happened to Atlantic City, too.
Vegas is collapsing. They just lost their way. Too expensive. Insane charges on everything. I’ll only go there if work has a meeting there.

That's CRAAAAAZY. (It's also objectively true.). Hey, who's the guy who's consistently said "All of this is traceable back to Obama II?". But you wanted the reality show over the elder statesman. Boy howdy, you got it. And are still paying for it.
Trump is to the left of Romney-2012 on every non-immigration issue: LGBT, free trade, entitlements, foreign intervention, etc. And Biden governed well to the left of Obama . So in reality the country mostly faces the opposite situation from what OP is suggesting.
