An absolute honour to be asked to speak at the British Dyslexia Association conference this year about Living Literacy and how we’ve implemented strategies that support our most vulnerable readers 👩🏫 thank you so much to everyone who came! #BDA24

I love this blog from @MissRussell11 - it’s a really generous share talking about something which has worked at her school 📚

On Monday my book club turned one year old! A year ago I got 35 strangers together in a cafe to drink wine, eat cheese and talk about a book. One year later we are still loving it every month! Was lovely to celebrate with my lovely gang who are no longer strangers but friends❤️

I can confirm no one was interested in my monologue about how Jaws is an allegory for greed… they all just sang baby shark. #WorldBookDay2024

We absolutely loved having Theatre Company KATCH 22 visit @LBoysSchool and perform their version of Macbeth to the students - the Q&A session at the end was so engaging and students loved hearing their thoughts about the play! Some lovely questions from our boys too! 🎭

Last half term I absolutely loved working with Y9 on their poetry. They wrote poems called “Dear People of the World” about challenging stereotypes. Thomas wrote about being “short” but fierce in the Ice Hockey rink! Words are beautiful ❤️

READING WEEK at @LBoysSchool : Literacy is EVERYTHING. We drop down the entire curriculum & spend the whole week in their form groups reading a novel and completing activities. Lots of reading aloud, creative work, drama, oracy.. even cookies decorated like ‘The Witches’ 🧙
