Kindness Day was a huge community success! Lots of amazing @Talk4Writing story telling with our new story areas and fairy doors. The children were kind and helpful, and we all worked together to progress our @OPAL_CIC journey. #Kindnesisoursuperpower @PieCorbett @JamieThomasTFW

Opal Week 2 in full swing. Our children are loving it and there is such a lovely buzz outside. If anyone has any trains or cars or lego, Penn Wood children and staff would be very grateful for your donations. @OpalCic

This week is OPAL launch week at Penn Wood. The children were so eager and engaged, and there was a tangible buzz in the air on day one. Z bugs, construction, bowling, weaving, chalk and train tracks yesterday - what will today bring?

Just finished I Am Raven by @alastair_ch from @NosyCrow and I think it's 'a better than the first in the series' kind of book. I really enjoyed the world opening up and some questions getting answered. Building to a great climax for book 3! I can't wait. Highly recommend 📚❤️

A really rich day exploring text potential through Talk for Reading, then levels of sophistication in @Talk4Writing with @PennWoodSchool. Lived these examples of writing in the style of an author and rewriting from different viewpoints! @PieCorbett

We invited families of our Gardening Club and Eco Champions to a 'Grow With It' event at school. Families planted nasturtium seeds together and made plant labels. It was lovely to share our love of the outdoors and gardening with our families. Thank you all for coming!

A fabulous World Book Day was had by all at Penn Wood; books are our golden thread. We all shared a book, our oldest children read to our youngest and we made our own 'Reader Identities' because Reading for Pleasure really is at the heart of what we do.

We were honoured to welcome @TanDhesi - Slough's MP - to Penn Wood today. Our Student Voice Reps asked important questions about education, the environment, and rising crime. Thank you, Mr Dhesi, for inspiring and encouraging hard work,community, respect, kindness&excellence.

For the very 1st time in public I read a little bit of Turtle Moon to lovely audience of teachers. And very unexpectedly I welled up during my reading. Thank you teachers for 1st giving me the space & then giving me a round of applause once I’d composed myself. ❤️
