I welcome the news that a deal has been reached on the first stage of President Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.

‘We know that hate and revenge cannot bring even a momentary relief from the pain.’ This is an essential read two years on from the horror of 7 October 2023. We choose to hope for peace, the return of the hostages and a better future for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Two years after 7 October, when my community was attacked & my parents taken hostage, I reflected back on that dark day and on where I think we must go next. Compassion has to lead us, not hatred. Written with my parents and my community of Nir Oz in my heart & mind today.
