First #mnleg retirement announcement: 4-term Rep. @JerryNewtonMN, who also served 2 Senate terms, won't run in 2024. "I noted to the caucus yesterday that the bill, HF1937 (his budget bill), happens to be my year of birth. It's time for me to think about my next career."

As far as @MinnLRL can verify, Gov. LeVander's 1969 message to the leg was the first to be titled "State of the State." Tonight's #SOTS fulfills a constitutional requirement for the gov to speak to the #mnleg each session. Read other gov addresses here:

Sen. John Marty set a record for the longest tenure in the #MNLeg Senate. As of today, he served 13,154 days! Sen. Limmer, Pappas, and Rest have long tenures in the Senate-and Sen. Pappas and Rest have a longer tenure overall with their House service. See: https://t.co/zcvtU5GcVH
