Yesterday, four women's hockey players for Gustavus were in a car crash, and Jori Jones tragically passed away. Our deepest condolences go out to Jones' family and the Roseville & Gustavus hockey communities. We also ask everyone to keep those who were injured in their thoughts.
Our thoughts are with Adam Johnson, his family, friends, and teammates. Bulldog Country is sending our best wishes following his injury tonight with the Nottingham Panthers and hoping for a positive update.

Today, we received further updates from the State of Minnesota on the return of organized sports. Highlights include:
- Practices may resume Jan. 4
- Games may resume Jan. 14
- Face coverings required at all times
- No spectators
- Pods of 25

board has approved all three winter/spring calendar models. If state shutdown is not extended, winter sports will start practice Dec. 21. If shutdown is extended, start date will be either Jan. 4 or Jan. 18. Lots of details remain, including postseason format/dates.
Extremely sad news for the Minnesota hockey community today as we learned Richard Emahiser passed away. A natural and passionate educator, Emmy (right) spent decades developing and mentoring players and coaches in Minnesota. Thoughts and prayers to his family!
Over the weekend, Dave Marcotte, the District 6 Supervisor of Officials, suffered cardiac arrest. As he recovers in the hospital, we ask that the entire Minnesota Hockey community please keep Dave and the Marcotte family in your thoughts.

Good news here. MN Dept. of Ed. emphasizing that if schools/sports are effective at preventing spread within their schools/sports they can stay open despite rising community cases. Mitigation strategies are making a difference in keeping kids active!
Coronavirus cases keep rising. But that may not mean schools need to close or sports must stop, the MN Dept. of Education told school leaders this week.
