I’ve been playing matchbox a lot the last two days and while this is somewhat true, I’m queuing into way more high/top level players than I would ever get to fight in ryugacord training.
Maybe this is a silly argument but aren’t the top players on smashmate gatekept by a high rating? And to play them you need to improve so your rating gets higher and you queue into them? How is that meaningfully different from having to improve in order to get into host up etc.

Or I can just win as the 1 seed again :p . Fr though Espada pushed me to my limit, my first ever game 15 I believe. Crazy fun sets and I think I learned a lot about the joker matchup too
