Having a day of rest after a busy night shift with a challenging and looooooong rural blue lights run last night. 🚓 Totally chilled now, catching up with @the_traitors_ with tea a shortbread, and enjoying a really fascinating book in front of the fire.

47,000 hours. Zero pay. Same badge. Same risks. While most of us are juggling work, family life and trying to find five minutes to sit down, there’s a group of people quietly doing something pretty extraordinary. In 2025 alone, Special Constables across the West Midlands

Well after a traumatic, long shift yesterday I really enjoyed my dawn walk with the dugs, and unusually for method a photo I actually thought was alright. Also planted my Christmas window boxes, went to visit my grandchildren, had a great catch up with a SC mentor , a good day.

This weeks #SundayThread Policing can’t do it in its own. Last week the 2nd report by Dame Louise Casey into the police response to violence against women and girls VAWG was released. It highlighted that more needs to be done by the police to address this ongoing issue

Confused why a certain group of the population are so offended by this. It’s a perfectly normal site in most countries during big events/holidays. They’re there as a deterrent (and if needed, you’d be the first people to run behind them).
Nothing screams “festive cheer” in Britain 2025 like wandering through a Christmas market surrounded by armed police… all while you’re just trying to buy a £12 mince pie and convince yourself civilisation isn’t quietly collapsing in the background. It’s the season of joy,

#bbclaurak it would be interesting to understand where all the #Motability funding actually ends up, as where it rests I imagine will be more of a driver of that growth than the market for the vehicles!

NEW Another vital policy delayed. @Police_Oracle reports police reform White Paper won't be published this month, as Policing Minister @LabourSJ said it would. Perhaps @ShabanaMahmood is seriously considering force mergers, as she hinted last month: https://t.co/BgvpazrOzI

Two sections of a speech given by Shabana Mahmood have sparked speculation that a once-in-a-generation overhaul of policing is on the way.

Need a bloody proper union like the Dutch.
New research shows 61% of police officers work through breaks & many have no proper place to rest or talk after traumatic incidents. Station closures and poor facilities are leaving officers isolated, fatigued and burnt out. Full article #POLICEMag👇 https://t.co/weJceqb4R7
