Our borough is the fly-tipping capital of the country - & the mayor is completely failing to get a grip on it. The Police & Crime Bill will ensure local authorities have the tools they need to crack down on waste criminals - like heavy fines, crushing vans and new technology.

My thoughts are with all those affected by the incident at Heathrow this morning. My heartfelt thanks go to the emergency services for their rapid response – and the arrest made. I am being regularly updated on the investigation. Those in the area should follow police advice.

Disgraceful incident this morning at the Tower of London. I am grateful to the police for their swift response and for the full investigation, which is now underway. There is a clear difference between the democratic right to protest and unacceptable behaviour.

Cumbria is doing a great job putting more police in our neighbourhoods. It was a pleasure to speak at their Neighbourhood Policing Conference in Penrith this morning. This Gov is backing local policing with £200m this year for neighbourhood police.
