I was lucky enough to join the AI governance workshops last week with @turinginst and experts from the Philippines government, industry and academia. Fascinating discussions and great to see growing 🇬🇧🇵🇭 p’ship in AI. Huge thanks to @LaureBeaufils and the @ukinphilippines team.
Last week was dedicated to science, innovation & tech in @ukinphilippines. We held important workshops, including on AI governance & AI ethics with @turinginst, & tech commercialization with @RAEngGlobal. 🇬🇧 is proud to continuously innovate with @DOSTphl + @DICTgovph . 🇬🇧🤝🇵🇭

First visit to Geneva today in my new role working on tech governance. Really interesting to hear experts from business, government and civil society speak on how to take a human rights-based approach to emerging technologies.

A real joy today to celebrate the completion of this water project in Teouma, bringing running water to the local community of 300 people, working in partnership with our French colleagues here in #Vanuatu 🇫🇷🇻🇺🇬🇧.
🇫🇷🇻🇺🇬🇧 Access to water is a fundamental right. In Teouma, this community of 300 people had no running water. They bought it in containers. France and the UK installed a pump that fetches water from a depth of -74 m, a 10,000-liter cistern and 40 taps.
