This is a problem for the car industry. Govt rules force car companies to make them but stick forcing us to buy them has been tossed 5 years into future - no wonder car industry pleading for a carrot eg VAT cut on EVs.
Last month only 4000 elec cars were bought by private buyers in U.K. was 5,300 in Jan last year. End of the generous subsidy regime. Incentives etc.

What terribly sad news. Such a lovely man and truly a motor racing legend. Tremendously hard working, passionate about the industry and always had a twinkle in his eye. Hugely supportive of all at SMMT, it was a privilege to have known him. Thoughts with Patrick & all the family.
So sad to report that the great Paddy Hopkirk has passed away. He was my hero and my friend - a motorsport legend who inspired me with his work ethic. And he made me laugh. Lots. Often on the tennis court🎾 Big hugs to the family - statement below Game, set and match to Paddy❤️
