There *could* be a mega in Worcestershire airspace right about now. Let's hope it's in this patch of sky right here in the next 30 mins or so. #WorcsBirds

Love watching Hawthorn, Elder and Bramble scrub at this time of year. A pre work walk around #SwanbrookValley gave a decent 'drop' of Warblers: 10 Whitethroat, 10 Chiffchaff, 8 Blackcap, 2 Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and a Tree Pipit! #WestMidsBirds

This Curlew was an unusual 'on the deck' bird at Grimley, possibly the first grounded one I've ever seen here. 71 Lapwing and a Redshank also roosting on the shoreline. Water levels dropping, Cattle chomping down the vegetation and wader numbers building. Fantastic! #WorcsBirds

Here is red C=X in 2023, a month of so after we had ringed it paddling around here in Worcester. Really highlights the importance of davic ringing to track individuals to study dispersal+survival. A little jelous it's spent the meantime enjoying coastal 🇪🇸! #WorcsBirds
Saw this ringed Lesser Black-Backed Gull at Stubbers Green on Monday. Ringed as a chick in Worcester in 2023, next reported in A Coruña, Spain on April 24th this year, and now living the dream in Walsall this summer! @EcoRecording

This Bittern was unexpected as it flew in from high to the north at Grimley, flapping its way down CLP before dropping into the reedbed. Honestly, when I initially saw the pale underside, I did think I may have found something rarer! Pos my first June Worcs sighting #WorcsBirds

About time I nailed this self finds tick. S/p Cattle Egret dropped into Grimley CLP at 19:17 on my last scan as I reached the top of the hill. Marsh Harrier did the same as I was about to leave about 18:20. Only a couple of hours late home. #WorcsBirds

This female Marsh Harrier arrived just as I was leaving Grimley this morning, did a bit of a circuit of the area before dropping into the reeds. The hepatic Cuckoo, as difficult & elusive as ever, made a brief appearence before a male moved her off towards Thorngrove #WorcsBirds

Garganey have been in short supply this spring, so this drake feeding among the post breeding bachelor parties of Gadwalls at Grimley-CLP was a nice surprise this morning #WorcsBirds
