Although I’ve retired from academia, I still come on twitter every April to see all the amazing microbiologists we have at the @MicrobioSoc conference. Such a good community. Serious FOMO! #microbio24

Very happy to share our latest publication! For the first time, we present the use of G. mellonella 🐛 as a #3Rs TB infection model using the fully virulent and lethal M. tuberculosis H37Rv 🦠 in CL3 (BSL3) @NC3Rs @ImperialInfect

For those who don't know. Search your favourite vaccine name + EMA. Go to a document named Sumary of product characteristics - go to section Pre-clinical safety data ✨✨
False claims that COVID-19 vaccine producers skipped animal trials due to the animals dying have resurfaced online. Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson conducted these trials and had no significant safety concerns to report https://t.co/MsF9wNctlI

Can we just stop writing cover letters, they are boring and outdated
As an editor, I can't tell you how many times I see cover letters where I just ... wonder? The first impression is the most important one, and too many times - it's not the best impression. How to write a compelling cover letter: a thread. NB: These are my views and mine only!

I am incredibly lucky to now have a paper with my amazing brother Davy. I don't know how common that is but to have spent some of my PhD with my bro in the same lab was a unforgettable experience and it's so nice having this as a momento
Congratulations to brothers David and @MicrobioGer on their recent publication which was supported by funding from the @wellcometrust and @MaynoothUni. #loveirishresearch #insectimmunology #proteomics

Amazing work with @Masanori_Asai which all started after chatting at @MicrobioSoc in person conference 2 ish years ago! Great to see 2 naive PhDs collaborate to yield such great results.
To expand on our previous research using Galleria mellonella as a model for TB, this latest collaborative work with @MicrobioGer and @MuMycology explored the Galleria innate immune response to infection with M. bovis BCG. @ImperialInfect @NC3Rs #TB #3Rs
