Huge news: 2025 @CFBPlayoff changes to straight seeding. Top 4 seeds get 1st-round byes regardless if it won a conference title, sources said. Conference champs still get auto-bids but are seeded based on ranking. This will be final year of 12-team playoff w/2026 playoff.

Former Cal and LSU safety Ryan Yaites has signed with TCU, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @cbssports/@247sports. Former four-star recruit and Texas native who had 16 tackles for Cal last year. Had 16 tackles for LSU in 2023.

Ohio State is the best team in CFB. Penn State is bringing everyone back. Michigan is loaded with talent. Oregon is consistently elite. Nebraska has a great HC & QB. USC has an angry Lincoln Riley. And UCLA just got Nico Iamaleava. The Big Ten is an absolute powerhouse.
