Why is @1NewsNZ making such a fuss about @BLACKCAPS in Zimbabwe? Its pointless farce. Took this when they won $20m in a test, Vitori another $20m for man of match. Equal to about US$20. Fleming shoved me for taking this pix. Silly cricket, still.

A straight con from @NewWorld - seduce customers to collect stickers for product, but when redeeming said product, it not available - hundreds short. This grocer duopoly is nothing more than a scam. They collect the cash.

US & Cook Islands "announce our cooperation to advance scientific research and the responsible development of seabed mineral resources." Washington was never worried about China in Cooks, just wanted deep sea bed for its companies.

Dont forget NZ also despatched an armed force to Fiji at one point, with machine gun and naval vessel, to suppress striking Indians. we've quite a record.
@MichaelFieldNZ Thanks for this. Possibly shades of the rioting on Banaba in '25, which was so serious the HMS Laburnum was sent. A completely neglected episode in our military history. I know Banaba wasn't formally ours but we were essentially handling the security situation.

@MichaelFieldNZ Fascinating and sad, thanks for the reference. I visited a few sites associated with the assassination of Larsen recently in Niue. The 95 year-old sister of one the assassins is still alive in Liku and compos mentis!.

I've written on the "riots" and abuse: it was pure racism. NZ hanged a couple of Chinese at around the same time - the jail it happened still stands!
@MichaelFieldNZ Do you think you'll bring out a book on the subject? I think there'd be wide interest. On another random Samoa subject: I recently came across a report on the Chinese riot & police shooting in Apia in 1929. I had no idea about this precursor to Black Saturday. Understudied?.
