In our new study in @TheLancetPsychiatry we show that individuals with #schizophrenia requiring #antipsychotic treatments are at increased risk of severe outcomes after respiratory #infections - which could be prevented by targeted vaccinations - moreover we show that #clozapine.

Our new nationwide study of #COVID19 showing increased risk of subsequent #psychiatric disorders, but not more frequent than after other infections with similar severity - just out in @JAMAPsych - and includes all PCR tests for #SARSCoV2 performed in Denmark.
Study with a nationwide cohort (total adult population of Denmark (N=4,152,792) found that deterioration of mental health after hospitalization for #COVID19 is common, but no more frequent than after other infections with similar severity.

CSF abnormalities in psychotic disorders? - Check out the current status of the state-of-the-art in our new comprehensive meta-analyses of all prior CSF studies just out in @molpsychiatry - main findings explained in the below Twitter thread by first author @TroelsRomer.
💡New meta-analysis on CSF-biomarkers in psychosis🧠. Using data from 145 studies, our team (lead by @MichaelBenros) has taken a deeper look at biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with psychosis vs. healthy controls. A quick re-cap👇(1/7).

The recent discovery of a fourth brain layer with immunological functioning further adds to the potential for immunomodulating treatments of brain disorders and for #immunopsychiatry - which is highlighted in our new commentary by @TroelsRomer.
🧠What may the discovery of an additional membrane surrounding the brain mean for our understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders? 🧐@MichaelBenros and I wrote a short commentary on this for @BrainBehavImm, available here 👉

We will start a new large-scale #precisionpsychiatry study utilizing electronic health records with #AI specialist @simonrasmu group to develop #ML models for decision support - improving the current understanding and treatments of mental disorders - thanks to @lundbeckfonden.
The objective is to boost the Danish #neuroscience research community by funding interdisciplinary and international partnerships. 'With Collaborative Projects, we seek answers to complex neuroscience questions’-Lars Torup, LF Scientific Programme Director.

Our recent study in @molpsychiatry that is the yet most comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis of immune cell composition in unipolar depression - displays immune cell alteration in major leukocyte subsets and more specialized immune cell subsets based on 104 studies.
Good to see a systematic quantification of what's often vaguely referred to as "immune alterations" in depression. Great job by @MichaelBenros and team! Something there but mostly small effects. Most relevant in some subgroup? -> #IMD @Ygoes2B_more

Our recent #DeepLearning study for cross-diagnostic prediction model of mental disorder diagnosis and prognosis in @JAMAPsych based on 63,535 individuals with genetic and nationwide register data - achieving an AUC of 0.81 that we can further improve on with more detailed data!.
Deep learning cross-diagnostic prediction model imitating a clinical setting, demonstrates that mental disorder diagnostic category can be predicted with an AUC of 0.81, based on 63,535 individuals with genetic and nationwide register data.

Our new @JAMAPsych paper on 6-month follow-up of hospitalized #COVID19 survivors show that cognitive impairment was significantly worse compared to patients hospitalized for non-COVID-19 illness, with a small absolute difference, whereas the improvement from discharge was large.
6-month follow-up of neuropsychiatric and cognitive outcomes among hospitalized #COVID19 survivors found worse cognitive status compared to patients hospitalized for non-COVID-19 illness, but comparable long-term neuropsychiatric complications
