Said it before, I think some of Kneecap's stuff is facile and stupid, and worth noting for that. But Keir Starmer – and all politicans – should have better things to do than weigh in. Kneecap are not terrorists. They are not inciting anything. They are a pop group.

Not the title's fault – I love writing for them. But when one is paid lineage, payment makes no distinction between reviewing a show 200 yards away and 200 miles away.

For those who think music journalism is remunerative. I reviewed a gig in Birmingham on Saturday, for a *high-paying* title. I left my home at 2.15pm and got home at 2.10am. Add an hour of writing the review. That's 13 hours of my time. I was paid £134. Less than minimum wage.
