I’m fundamentally impressed by anyone who walks away from Congress. The overwhelming motivation of almost all politicians is to cling to power at any cost. The ability to abandon that power is rare and should be commended.

Twice Paul referenced his Roman citizenship to call out the Roman officers violating their own laws. This is similar to knowing local or federal laws & informing the police as they violate them. It’s in no way akin to pledging allegiance to the country that calls you its citizen.
