This is truly an historic decision by #ITLOS for the protection of the ocean and planet from GHG #pollution. Stringent due diligence obligations and meeting Paris requirements not enough for UNCLOS and the marine environment. #cosis

ITLOS does not consider that a State satisfied its legal obligations under UNCLOS with regard to climate change simply by meeting its obligations under the #ParisAgreement!! Meaning: states should take more action and thus all possible measures!

It's enraging + hurtful considering that the calls of Indigenous Peoples from Australia and young people for greater ambition at COPs and beyond are ignored. 🌡️1.5 to stay alive! If we are looking to the Paris Agreement - you must considers crucial Art2(2)! And do all it takes!
