Over the past two months, we’ve collected data on #postdoc compensation through a survey. Today, we’re here to share the results with you — but let’s make it fun! 🎲 Guess the answers: What percentage of @Yale postdocs are paid below minimum compensation?

Florida's citrus production has been in freefall since citrus greening was first detected in 2005. No cure for this disease that wreaked havoc in citrus orchards. Add to that the damage from hurricanes and the citrus farmers are under immense pressure. #AllInForCitrus

5️⃣🧬Rapid Gene Editing: #CRISPR/Cas9 is used to introduce mutations in citrus, producing gene-edited plants within three months instead of 9-12 months in tissue culture. Don't forget to 👍, 🔄 and reach out with any questions!

4️⃣🧫 Efficient Inoculation Techniques (transformation): The AGWC (apical bud cut, growth, wound, and cotton inoculation) and BCTI methods are the most effective, showing high regeneration and transformant shoots.

3️⃣🍊Critical Growth Conditions: High humidity and the use of younger seedlings (4-6 weeks) are key factors in achieving successful regeneration and transformation.

2️⃣🍊High Regeneration Rates: This new method increases the regeneration rate in lemon to over 95% in planta compared to 4.8% in #tissueculture.

1️⃣🍊Tissue Culture-Free Transformation: We developed a in planta transformation method for recalcitrant citrus cultivars such as lemon and pineapple sweet orange, bypassing the need for labor-intensive tissue culture techniques.
