Tip #3 - Litter around the trees may seem harmless but it can trap water, rot bark and weaken roots. Keep the area clean to help the trees thrive.

Tip #2 - Bark damage can be serious. A bike lock or heavy object wound can damage the tree for years. Do your best to avoid this!

Tip #1 - Young trees can't handle the heat, it dries up their water reserves and with shallow roots, it only takes one hot spell to kill them. Make sure to water them when the temperatures start rising!

Urban trees need up to 30m³ of loose soil to thrive. At Markhouse Corner we used Stockholm tree pits to give 4 trees the space, water and oxygen they need while keeping pavements safe and stable. These pits also channel rainwater from nearby surfaces 💧🌱 #NationalTreeWeek
