Hi! Welcome to my Twitter account. This account won’t be as active as usual for the next year as I’m off on maternity leave. Occasional tweets and DM checks will continue but I won’t see tags and DMs quickly. I also won’t be tweeting in a regular or timely fashion 🩷

I hope to see more like this - I’m not an expert but I can tell you patterns I’ve seen across multiple cases. It was so refreshing to have law enforcement want to hear ground truth and find ways to make it better for others in the future. Thanks OPSBAU

We talked about the psychological effects for victims & families. I have a ten week old baby. Knowing someone who incited violence against me and live streamed with a shirt with a gunsight on my face for days is still out there… not fun. The police don’t know where he is. The

We also talked about the focus on problems with repeat offenders getting bail but nothing about the huge gaping holes in repeat offenders violating their probation and parole conditions of release, where they are often not arrested or held accountable.

We talked about Corrections releasing offenders near victims only telling them the offender is out and not the point of release - in my case violating the one individual’s probation.

We talked about judges who consistently give the minimum for criminal harassment and stalking regardless of psych profile and criminal history. Or in my case a threat being made in open court not changing the sentencing by guideline.

We talked about Crowns rolling up charges into one or two and dropping others if the accused pleads guilty - something one of my stalkers used to work the system. We talked about statutory release and time served credit for not getting bail when a suspect simply chooses to not

As talked about offenders who work the system and how the system both police and justice fail to coordinate across forces and geographic locations to identify patterns of behaviour. Both of my stalkers are repeat offenders in multiple jurisdictions.

Warrants only enforceable for 100km and that police won’t approve officers to go retrieve an arrested suspect outside that range (my first stalker was arrested around Marmora and Belleville multiple times and released because OPS wouldn’t go get him - lack of staff).

We talked about the frontline failures of operators who don’t understand threats and slow or block access to a rapid police response. Also cases being sent to non-specialist police who don’t have the knowledge or time to juggle files like these along with robberies, drug arrests

Remarkable thing about this - the OPS Behavioural Analysis Unit *wanted* to hear about where the systemic problems are for victims. The experience of where the system fails. Not a whitewash and my feelings. They wanted why isn’t the rubber hitting the road and ideas to fix it.

I spoke at a unique and important law enforcement event yesterday - the OPS Threats to Public Figures workshop. I shared my experience w 2 men who harassed me with sexual & violent threats. One walked around wearing a tshirt with a gunsight over my face when I was very pregnant.

I am relieved and grateful to see police taking this seriously from forces at multiple levels. I’m not the only woman in public life this happens to and there are major changes that need to be made. Incredible to see officers who are determined to make that happen.

The other man who has stalked me for years, Steven Saliba was also discussed and OPS shared some of the thousands sick sexual messages he sent me (with my full advanced consent)

I still don’t know where he is and I won’t give him the publicity he wants by posting his name here - but he had over 60K followers on one of his multiple Instagram accounts and followers calling for me to be beaten to death while pregnant

I spent the weekend in Delhi, India. 1 million street dogs are under severe threat. I’ve never seen a story like this. I didn’t think it was possible in the modern world. The world needs to see this… (1/10) 🧵

When Canada repatriated some of our ISIL women, it cost over $170k. Wine. Business class flights. Room service. Global Affairs Canada has some explaining to do. This is indefensible misuse of public funds. https://t.co/4GTn74nWdx

1. Two years ago, @globalnews asked Global Affairs Canada a simple accountability question: How much did it spend bringing Canadian ISIS women home from Syria and how was the money spent?

TBC, we absolutely needed to repatriate these women. But this is an absolute slap in the face to their victims, and frankly, all victims of terrorism.
