…and don’t begins. In my view greybelt hasn’t been thought through properly and is going to lead to confusion about what is/isn’s allowed and unhappiness from locals who may see this a shortcut to green belt release.
An inspector has allowed a land promoter’s appeal for a 390-home scheme after finding that the site met the national policy definition of “grey belt” land, and ordered both a borough and a county council to pay costs to the appellant .

On paper this looks good - some of the rhetoric is a little OTT but that’s what you expect. It remains to be seen what they cost and who can afford to like their (including the 20% affordable). Also what will the impact be in Mayfield during construction

I’ve not been in the @noordinarypark for a while but the phased residential and development of new GI and urban nature seems to be working well. New neighbourhoods, a vibrant atmosphere and a people centred approach to design.

We’ve also been nominated to the Rural Planning Futures book led by Mark Scott at UCD and based on the project we did for the RTPI (led by John Sturzaker) that I contributed to. So a good day for PPEM all round.

New National Park decision - really interesting outcome. Whilst conservation & landscape protection are critical there are always downsides. It’s good that they had a consultation and have listened - is a 54/46 split sufficient though to make this decision
