Lucy Letby’s latest appeal bid has been dismissed by the court of appeal.

Public Inquiry heard that as early as three months after Letby’s first victim died, nurses on the NNU were “thinking the unthinkable”.

Another doctor is now giving evidence at @Thirlwall_Inq .Dr Barrett says when Letby was taken off clinical shifts they noticed a difference- less deteriorations and cardiac arrests. She remembers describing Letby as “nurse death” to a colleague shortly after death of baby P.

Dr Lambie also told inquiry about a “very, very unusual incident” involving another infant that happened up to a fortnight before the death of Child A. “It was something I have never experienced before or since.” That child did not feature in the criminal trial.

Dr Lambie said: “I was walking through the intensive care unit & there was a huddle of nurses over the computer & I asked what they were doing & one of the nurses replied they were going through the rota just to make sure that there wasn’t somebody that was on for each one.
