Happy International Women's day, I had some things to say about our role in weaving stories about nature at the @BushHeritageAus & @trustfornature Women in Conservation Breakfast last week.🌿🦸‍♂️ https://t.co/C8NvIB5KXT #IWD2023 #InternationalWomensDay @Forest_and_Bird

1. Dr Joyce Winifred Vickery was a botanist and taxonomist specialising in notoriously difficult-to-identify grasses. She is known to have refused the first position the National Herbarium had offered her, demanding that she be paid as much as a man with the same qualifications.

I'd like some ideas from unis & uni professors/students. What can local Landcare orgs do to support research work ? What can we offer to help researchers coming to our area for studies? Is it money? Is it access to members private property? Is it transport? Accommodation?

Very touching talk from @tatsuya_amano... I feel very seen and reflected by it. For researchers for whom English is not our native language, the science race involves far more effort and obstacles to overcome. Please, be empathetic and supportive with us!#ESASCBO2022 @EcolSocAus
