This is the only RFC number I know because we just say it so casually “oh that’s a 1918 address”. Any other RFC number someone rattles off without context I just assume is a dumb joke about the carrier pigeon one and I move on.
RFC1918 is an important one to know, defines private IP ranges: 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, and 192.168.0.0/16 . I usually don’t suggest memorizing anything but “1918” should ring a bell.
