Starting a maid company is a great option for your first #BlueCollar business. Here’s how I did it: 1) create an LLC and a business bank account. I used @bluevine for my business bank account and @LegalZoom to create my LLC.

Next steps for me: 1) Do more local directory citations for newly created GMB profiles 2) continue to find quality backlinks using semrush’s tool, predominately via forums and directories

For those of you who use semrush, how long does it take for new backlinks to start populating? How long does it take for quality backlinks to impact DA. A few of my stats: 75 referring domains 153 Analyzed Backlinks 88% non toxic, 11% potentially toxic, 1% Toxic

🚨How to Rank at the Top of Google in 2025 This tweet written mainly for local businesses, but many of the principles apply no matter what business or website you own. The number 1 thing you need to understand about SEO is that it is slow. It is not the first marketing

I know these guys get paid now, but it’s easy to forget that these are college kids. Feel terrible for Drew Allar. He’s dreamt about this moment his entire life, played a solid couple games, and just a brutal decision combined with terrible luck at the worst time. #PennState

Using a @Chase business credit card was an awesome decision for my business. The cash back is pretty good, and the into no APR for 12 months let me front load some costs as I was getting going.

The fatherhood crisis captured in one arm slot.
A massive snowball fights involving hundreds if not thousands of DC residents has erupted in Meridian Hill Park. I took a few photos and snowballs to the face. @dcsnowball

I ran a post on Reddit that I knew would get some traffic and comments. Does a Reddit post like this help my SEO efforts? https://t.co/3lvmR5F390

How is everyone getting Google reviews? I have three GMB profiles, have 40 reviews on one, with zero on the other two. What are realistic goals for me for the other two, and what type of results will I see from more reviews?

@Upwork I pay mine per phone call as it was not super feasible for me to hire one to be my virtual assistant full time.

@Upwork I have several individuals in the Phillipines that would love to be your virtual assistant if you are looking for one.

Hiring a virtual assistant was one of the best decisions I made for my business. I used @Upwork and spent a lot of time getting them up to speed, but now that they are capable it’s incredible.

When looking for a “sweaty startup” to start as a side business the best part of a maid company is that you know what a clean house looks like. It feels insane to me to start an HVAC company when I know nothing about HVACs.

Starting a business that cash flows from your first customer is the best way to learn about business. Don’t listen to people saying that you should go into massive debt for this.

@BookingKoala 7) at the beginning I took all phone calls. I’ve now moved to a virtual assistant who I found via doing interviews from Upwork. It’s changed my business for the better and really helped us.

@BookingKoala 5) I hired maids by using zip recruiter. I hired pretty much anyone who would apply, get on a call and sound somewhat competent, but I fired people after one no show, or more than 2 legitimate customer complaints.
