🚨 Life update: I'm starting a new company.
Winner of the "Best devtool" prize at the
@supabase
@calcom
@warpdotdev
hackathon, is now a usable product!
Introducing : a shortcut to make apps multi-lingual, fast.
Why? How does it work? Who's using it? 👇
Can someone explain, why is VC funding so glorified in the startup world?
Why don't the bootstrapped founders get the same exposure?
It feels wrong. Seems like bootstrappers should have our own TechCrunch, at least?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME
When you sign up for Google Workspace, it recommends the most expensive plan.
There's NO WAY to select another plan. You have to start the trial, and go to billing settings to downgrade to 6EUR/mo plan from there.
?!!
Google Workspace increased prices, again.
Well, I guess it's the time:
We're paying $0/mo for mail on a custom domain (+ calendar, 15GB of GDrive, etc)
Basically G Workspace, but without the "admin console" part. And without $20/usr/mo.
Anybody wants the guide in their DMs?
LIFE UPDATE: My startup,
@Notionlytics
, just got acquired!
After I quit
@Typeform
last year, I've built a SaaS used at Shopify and AirAsia.
We teamed up with
@vrcprl
to bootstrap the best-in-class product to solve a niche, but sharp problem.
What a wild ride it has been!
•…
ppl freak out finding out I’m OK crashing on the floor at their place to save $ during a business trip
bro
I moved to another country to have access to Stripe and Wise
I’m ok sleeping on the floor, just give me wifi so I can keep building my startup
$1k+ MRR is just the start
$10,000 MRR.
It's just 500 customers paying $20/mo.
There are 8 billion people out there, and all that's needed is 500 of them to sign up for your app.
Anyone can do this.
Can you believe this?!
A courier has just brought a package to my door in Barcelona.
I opened it.
And this is what was inside: a small present from
@Stripe
!
Just wow! 🤯
To this exact day, I still keep that email from
@stripe
, where it says my first ever SaaS got its first paying customer.
One day, I promise, I will print it, frame it, and put it on the wall.
We did it! 🤩
Thanks to everyone who supported, we wouldn't get there without you! 🚀
The amount of feedback and good vibes we have received was absolutely unbelievable. THAT was the actual prize, not the
@ProductHunt
badge!
Thank you all! You rock! 🪨

So,
The fast guy invests short-term and achieves quick wins, while the slower guy invests long-term.
You choose one over another depending on the stage of your company.
You can't even imagine the arch an ex-Google SE would suggest here
USA visa - Done ✅
@ProductHunt
launch - 2nd place ✅
Now coming back home, to prep for the
@_buildspace
demo day, and IRL meetup in San Francisco next week!
Letssss gooooo
Damn, this tweet got slightly more replies than I anticipated!
I've sent 200 DMs manually; I can't handle this anymore 🤣
I've posted the notes on my website, here's a public link for y'all:
Everyone in SF is talking about tech & startups. Feels so cool.
It's like being back at university, with everyone hustling towards a shared dream while figuring out own paths.
But it's time to go home now and get some work done.
See you soon,
@_buildspace
✌️
Next stop: $2K MRR
Does anyone want ME to launch their startup on ProductHunt?
To *hunt* it?
I've got 2000 connections there. Could help get some extra exposure for your product, huh?
Reply w/ ✋ , open DMs, and I'll send you a launch checklist.
yo
@_buildspace
P.S.: This is FREE, wtf ppl 😅
Can someone explain why raising VC capital for a startup is so glorified?
Isn't its purpose to just be a tool (for growth)?
What's so special about the VC check?
Fuck MRR and revenue growth.
The next 4 weeks I will be focusing ONLY on making a better product, customer feedback. On shipping cool, much needed, helpful stuff.
I will check my startup's revenue exactly 0 times.
Why?
To fix 11% churn.
Let's see how it plays out!
So!
Didn't win $25K at
@_buildspace
final: was knocked out with 49% vs 50% votes.
Feeling neutral. Will do better next time!
Next steps:
1. Take a day off
2. Fly to
@_nightsweekends
IRL event in SF
3. Build the product
4. Talk to users
Found today while cleaning up my Chrome bookmarks:
"400+ places to post your startup" (Airtable)
"500+ places to promote your startup" (Notion)
Communities, directories, catalogs, etc, for startup founders.
If someone wants it - open your DMs and reply below

@levelsio
My take:
1. Mortgage is cheaper: rent = landlord’s mrtg payment + markup.
2. Mortgage fixes the asset price: debitor “rents” it irrespective of the future market conditions.
3. Mortgage can be refinanced when interest rates change, while it’s rare for the rent to become lower.
hey, listen up
if your startup can help other
#indiehackers
to:
- get first users
- drive more $ sales
- grow faster %
then tell us what you're building + share a link
let's help each other! 🤜 🤛

6 mo ago, after being laid off, I went full-time to work on my ideas.
6 w ago I joined
@_buildspace
, w/ 17K other ppl.
3 d ago we won Product
#2
of the Day from
@ProductHunt
.
Today, at 10:30 AM PT we're competing for $25K, to keep working on our ideas.
Join to support us! 👇
at first, we didn’t get into the startup school we wanted
but we booked a flight to nyc w/ a 11hr layover in iceland
coded a bunch of stuff w/
@vrcprl
over the weekend
and just won $5k at the hackathon
startup life is wild!
just keep going and have fun ;)
Why does cold emailing even work, why is it even a thing?
I still can't explain this to myself.
How could someone reply to a pitch they didn't expect?
Open question.
Does anybody know the answer?
it feels like startups ain't talking enough about how much 3rd party log-in costs these days:
- Apple: $299/yr
- WeChat: $99/yr
wtf?
isn't this supposed to be free?!
#buildinpublic
Seems like Apple is having their big event today, huh?
If my ProductHunt launch makes it to the top, I'm sending Tim Cook a 99% coupon.
The code will be TIMCOOK99.
Yearly plan only, of course.
How does that sound?!
💥 WE'RE LIVE, SUPPORT US! 👇
so, let's say I want to quickly set up a blog for my saas.
what I've learned so far:
- wordpress: old and overcomplicated
- ghost: targets those making a living from writing
- custom nextjs/remix: kinda ok
folks, what are you using for the content mkting blog for your saas?
some people will hate me for this, but:
imagine getting stuck in indiehacking, and never building something great?
dunno bout you, but for me that sounds terrifying.
do what you love, start small.
but you can do better than $3/mo SaaS, even if you don't believe in that yet
💥
hey
@_buildspace
, check this out!
we're competing against folks with $6,000,000 in the bank
but we're just two ppl:
@belakhonya
and myself
it's only us
BUT WE CAN WIN 🤯
do your magic, Twitter, let's gooooo
@ProductHunt
! 🚀
Prediction:
“X” is not for replacing “Twitter”.
Instead, “X” will be the name of the holding company, that will own Twitter, Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, etc.
Pretty much like Alphabet <> Google.
Sad reality we gotta face with grace:
9/10 of
#buildinpublic
ppl won't be around in 12 months.
1/10 of those remaining will become ramen profitable, with a few surpassing $10K MRR.
Feels like in the end it's a matter of choice and priorities, huh?
From what I see, lots of
#indiehackers
are trying to build something simple, quickly.
But that's wrong.
Do you know what's also quick about simple products?
Copying them.
Solution: build cool complex stuff needed by many people. Let your tech become your moat.
#buildinpublic
WTF PEOPLE 🤯
my random thoughts on startups resonate w/ you, i guess?
looks like i owe you something in return now 🤣
ok, let's do this:
reply if interested, and I'll DM you an unusual fact about X=>Twitter that I learned recently
“Sign in with Apple” - $99/year
“Sign in with WeChat” - $99/year
Prediction:
“Sign in with Google” will become a paid service within a year.
Google is struggling and needs all possible resources to not lose the AI race. And everybody has a Google account.
hey
@_buildspace
, now check THIS out!
- launched today
- climbed to
#2
- standing next to the BIG VC-backed folks
- we're just two people, no VC, only traction and $1K+ MRR
✨ and ✨
- just got featured in todays
@ProductHunt
digest! 💥
let's gooooooooo! 🚀

@FarzaTV
just got accepted into Microsoft Founders Hub!! 🥳

- GitHub Enterprise

We're running a community of
@_buildspace
builders here in Barcelona.
We're meeting every week.
If you're local, or if you're a nomad, and you're in Barcelona:
Hit me up in DMs!
Our next meetup is tomorrow at 18:00.
Building startups is so easy.
You just gotta build a great product, and also good
1. Traffic
2. Acquisition
3. Aha & habit moments
4. Retention
5. Conversions
6. Revenue expansion
8. CAC
9. CAC payback
10. LTV
11. MRR
12. Churn
13. K-factor
Why do people overcomplicate this?
Winners of the Golden Kitty Award were just announced:
@notionlytics
wins silver!
We're stoked to have built something valued so much by the community.
Thank you, everyone who supported!!! 🫶
I know nothing about cold emails, outreach and sales.
But, this is how I found 3,000 people interested in what I'm building.
I've sent only 10 messages so far, but the results are promising: one person was super excited about my app, and another one offered to partner.
Step 1.…
during the last hour alone got two insights on how i will break past $2k and probably even $5k MRR
by just talking to ppl about what they’re doing and what i am
!!
the vibe at
@_buildspace
is truly magical
ayo
Every day is a chance to have a fresh start.
To start a startup.
To grow your $ MRR.
To go viral on social.
To get promoted at your 9-5.
To make that first $1 online.
All you gotta do is to show up consistently, put in efforts, and enjoy the journey.
Been working on a new devtool + API, after our bootstrapped SaaS got acquired.
Got initial feedback, some support, and launched on devto. Planning to post on Reddit next, then Hacker News. :)
Here’s how it's going so far!
Lmk if you’d like to check it out too :)👇
I'm noticing how some
#indiehackers
who
#buildinpublic
started to rapidly shift focus from building to marketing.
Well. Good luck marketing your product while it's still unusable.
Marketing is needed. And also sales. But the power is in the right balance and iteration, IMO.
damn, Twitter is so full of noise, esp in "startup advice" space
but I'm happy to be in the info bubble I'm in right now. bc people whom I follow back are
- real makers
- who post real stuff
- no AI tweets
- zero bs, and just nice ppl to talk to
that's luck.
ready, steady, GO!
roast my startup idea with a question
what?
notion document analytics.
why?
notionlytics helps notion users who write often understand if their documents get used by other people.
WDYT? share your feedback! 👇

ever worked this much, in a row, non stop?
i'm doing this right now.
we're still just a team of two.
still have no VC capital in the bank, unlike others.
awake, focused, and we're crushing it.
