So proud to share the published version of this work of the Biogeography of cortical fast-spiking interneurons! We demonstrate that in association cortices many FS neurons do not express parvalbumin. @KISNeuro @NTNUhelse

#QuattrocoloLab preprint out 👇! We explored changes in the proteome of HP and DG growth cones at early postnatal stages. We see that at P1 growth cones from the two subregions are very similar, but start to diverge from P3, with HP growth cones maturing earlier then DG ones.

The writing style is so understated compared to today’s claims. But also: we just send an idea, please publish while we work on the data. The paper by Cobbs and Comfort describes the role played by Franklin.

This week I am sharing what I think to be the most significant publication in biology since 1859. This paper opened the door to molecular biology and molecular genetics.

Immunology is such a beautiful field! It was just recognized with another Nobel prize. Richard Lewontin included it (“mechanisms of self-recognition”) in the five properties defining living organisms.
BREAKING NEWS The 2025 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi “for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.”

Nice video. strong evidence that the brain is indeed activated during behavior, and that the neural dynamics is quite complex. Please spend many millions of dollars so we can watch more enlightening videos like this
Collaborations are moving neuroscience forward. Scientists from 20 institutions (including ours!) created the first brain-wide map of individual neurons’ activity in mice for the @IntlBrainLab. Video from @SWC_Neuro

If you have sometime , give our paper on social foraging theory in PRX life a read. If you want to listen to me explain some of the concepts, check out this lecture I gave focusing on social foraging theory : https://t.co/iougDk1hH8. .
Cohesion, residence time, and habitat-choice accuracy emerge as key metrics shaped by social interaction, revealing exploration-exploitation trade-offs in the collective foraging patterns of large egalitarian groups. https://t.co/8YCCHmkumB

Best wishes to @Prime5222 for his future endeavors in science. Luis is starting a very exciting position in Cambridge. We will miss him here where he has built rigs and analysis pipelines, has been a wonderful colleague and a very kind person to share the science adventure!
I started a new position @IMS_MRL as a senior research advisor. I'm grateful for what I learned (and built!) at @MaxNigro_Neuro 's laboratory and thankful to all my colleagues @KISNeuro for allowing me to grow and learn from the best🫡
