Important clinical insight. But most cases are argued on ‘inability to understand’ when the issue is (in)ability to weigh. All P has to do is appreciate information to understand. P doesn’t have to ‘believe.’ They may have to believe to ‘weigh’ (but the law’s unclear)!.
