The older I get, the more I think this is the reality. A beaten down deracinated people. The ones who stood up were never more than a small minority. No self-respecting people accepts their being reduced to an ethnic minority in their own land.

When the only place in Dublin that seems still like Dublin is Parnell Park for a hurling semi final you know that there is not only no such thing as diversity and multiculturalism but that we as a people are finished after another 20 years of this.

Ukraine recently allowed 18 - 22 year olds to leave (rather than desert) and numbers here this year look like being up on last year. More than twice as many arrivals last month as in September 2024.

If you had built something in your back yard the same way Banty set up an IPAS centre the lads in the yellow jackets with quango hammers would be out to smash it to bits. And it wouldn't take them five years either as Brendan McDonagh and others have discovered.

With one faction of Sinn Féin belatedly raising IPAS issues, it might be timely to remind them that they were 100% on the side of the State, the Garda riot unit and the millionaire contractors when communities attempted to stop them.

IPAS centres on land that no one knows who owns. Most of them with no planning permission or exemption, charging as they please, no fire certification... And that's just from a random sample of 20 of 320! Bike shed scam is equivalent of someone stealing a € from the tip jar.
