Life plan:. 15-25: Grind academically/in finance to de-risk downside. 25-35: Build solo cash flow generative business. 35-50: Be a moderately successful musician (peaking at low-end festival bookings). 50+: Have a third act building a moonshot company or as an author.

Anecdotally, pest control is the first home service where I've had a tough time getting a timely call back. The market for cleaners, HVAC, roofing, etc. seems pretty optimized in TO.

Pest control biz itself seems good too, but you'd prob want actual industry expertise to operate. And there are some big PE players like Rentokil, Orkin that prob make it still a grind. With an async program, you can just find a few experts and do a rev share.

Complete hunch, but I think there's an opportunity to do pest control training in Ontario/Canada. - Super fragmented, relatively low start-up costs for home service. - Visits are high-urgency, $1-2k per visit for homes (way more for biz). - Required service for many fields

When I meet a Cool Person from Mississauga, I realize they probably grew up in a nameless cookie cutter neighbourhood, watched Recess, did DECA, and ~50% of their friends are brown or Asian.

It feels unfair, but it's actually so much easier to become friends with someone from your general hometown. The shared understanding, media diet, loose friends of friends.
