This video is a year old but gives good insight on Nate Scheelhaase and what McVay asks if his offensive assistant coaches. #RaiderNation

The most powerful skill you can build is staying in a good mood for no reason. Not because life is perfect—but because you trained your mind to expect good things.

Throughout the season, Rick Majerus scheduled 20 minutes of skill work before practice, 20 minutes during practice, and 20 minutes after practice. We worked with small groups, focusing on shooting drills related to our offensive concepts. “I’d rather have a more skilled

If there’s one question I get asked more than any other at this time of year, it’s this: how do you coach youth teams? This is my answer. A Thread.

My favorite comment in regards to the shot clock debate is people thinking that no shot clock = better shot quality. 🛑 There is no correlation with this assumption. The highest % FGA are in the first 8 seconds of a possession, across all competitive levels of play.

Overrated for culture - Meetings, posters, norms, players voting on values/rules. Underrated for culture - have a few non-negotiables you'll lose your stuff over and be maniacal about holding people accountable.

I think the real reason so many parents get upset when good coaches and educators hold their kids accountable is because they correctly recognize it as an accurate indictment on their parenting. I said what I said.

A Strong Take: Kids need truth tellers. Raise them to be resilient, not fragile. 1. Sports are hard. 2. School is hard. 3. Life is hard. But every time parents jump in to rescue… Every time they blame the coach, the teacher, or the ref… Every time they make excuses for

What do the world’s best golfer and an NBA MVP have in common? They both said: Sport isn't the main thing in their life. Scottie Scheffler: “I’d rather be a great father than a great golfer...This is not the most important thing in my life.” Nikola Jokić: “I hope my kid

England’s FA just moved to 3v3 for U7 and 5v5 for U8, U9 and U10 and they don’t start 11v11 until U15. That’s a ⚽️ mad culture. Now what should the US Soccer do for a sport with limited (if any) culture? U8 - 2v2 U9/U10 - 3v3 U11/U12 - 5v5 U13/U14 - 8v8 U15-U18 - 11v11
