I believe I threw 98.7% strikes (818/828). I tugged a couple glove side…which was disappointing. But I found a ton of barrels! Fungo game was solid but not spectacular. Overall solid day. Consistency will be tested to see if I can do it again tomorrow 😬

CG has the best lineup & are really good INF defense. The Zionsville pitching hype about the quality and depth is REAL and is only gonna get better. Fishers has the ace.

Give me a well manicured natural grass field any day. Problem is that funding for proper maintenance of a HS field is rare/nonexistent in my experience. Whether your home field is natural or artificial, no one wants to play on a goat ranch.

Interested to hear your perspective on it. I see it the other way, in state tournament, most sites are grass, who is more used to it, teams with grass or teams with turf? I see teams that play on turf struggle more than those that have turf. Grass teams welcome turf.

I really like the Colorado baseball tournament format a lot! True seed 1-32 (not everyone gets in - teams actually have to earn it through their regular season play). Top 8 seeds host. Gotta win a DH on the 1st weekend to advance to an 8 team double elimination tourney.

Having the ability to get outside in January, February and early March for more than just long toss is huge. It takes time for eyes and depth perception to adjust outdoors. I believe your sectional and regional (not sure about semi-state) will both be played on turf this year
