Last night we run the Paris 2024 Olympic mass marathon together with @MatBethermin. And wow that was so rough. The heat, the insane hills, running at night. Once in a lifetime experience and we finished but that was not easy. The views and atmosphere were magnificent though 😃

He did it! That was really tough but @MatBethermin is tougher!! He’s an Ironman and I’m so damn proud. 🥹 You gotta be a little crazy to do a race like that but he did it even though the marathon in the end was hard.

And ERO images are usually a single field. There will be 10000s of them paving roughly 1/3 of the full sky at the end of the mission.

In one of the @ESA_Euclid ERO papers, we (@EC_Euclid) searched for globular clusters (GCs) in a field in the Fornax Cluster, focusing mostly on GCs around the dwarf galaxies in this field (the best research topic ever :D) ... #ArXiv link to paper: https://t.co/ROecrZChqX

The paper I have been working on for a while is out! In this one I predicted the detectability of Globular Clusters in the full 6-year Euclid survey! And then tested detection models and size measurement using the first ERO data on the Fornax Cluster! https://t.co/yjsnKpHlpX

And thanks again to @almaobs for the beautiful data. These are only partitially observed programs (~20%). Imagine what we could do at full depth! I really hope that we will ultimately be lucky and that one day the 500pc observations of VC875 will be completed...

Lots of thing could happen (starbursts timescale shorter than the mergers, inefficient of mergers to trigger starbursts, selection effect...). A lot more needs to be done both on the observationnal and simulation side... Stay tuned!

The final result is there. Our object lies on the high-end of the relation found at lower redshift, but well-below high-z starbursts (red, brown). Despite their morpho-kinematics, our sample is thus not behaving as the extreme bursts studied before at this z. Why?

This involves a couple of technicallities concerning the uncertainties. Please read the paper for more details...
