Not sure the MAGA supporters envisaged that $500-600 billion would go to fighting more wars π€·ββοΈ There is so much else that Trump could do with that amount of money to transform the lives of tens of millions of Americans π€¦ββοΈ
BREAKING: Trump wants to spend $600 BILLION more on the military. NOTE: It would only cost: - $35 Billion to fund the ACA subsidies - $10 Billion to House EVERY homeless American - $30 Billion to fund USAID - $9 Billion to fund 2-years of college for all But I guess our DEBT

Really pleased to see Jamie joining us π Iβve got a lot of respect for his time navigating running a branch of government successfully (a pretty rare thing over the past several years!) and @TheGreenParty needs people with experience π I also had a chance to work with Jamie
British politics is a mess. Food, energy, housing are all too expensive. Major parties are all flogging the dead horse of trickle down. So Iβm joining the Green Party. Thereβs serious work to do, but Britain needs an economy that works for workers, for small businesses, and

Just had a chance to properly look at the by-elections results this week and the TLDR it was a catastrophe for Labour! π³ Labour were below 10% in 6 out of 8 places they stood in In 5 of those, they lost more than 2/3 of their vote share π Average result: 8.7% π«£ I think
For the penultimate time in 2025, here's your by-election preview: - 4 CON Defences (E. Devon, Lichfield, S. Kesteven, Stockton-on-Tees) - 2 LAB Defences (Darlington, W. Lothian) - 1 PLC Defence (Caerphilly) - 1 SNP Defence (Highland) - 1 Ind Defence (S. Kesteven)

To be fair to Trump, this is a very clever policy and strategically significant. Notably, itβs switching up the narrative being using against billionaires to show that they arenβt the bad guys, and providing lower and middle income families with children with an additional stake

It is an historic endeavour to try to bring various left wing groups together but it does seem that factional differences could seriously hamper the project. This has already been the case for months now and Iβd expect the infighting to continue over the next few months as
"Itβs not enough to just pick sides, the factionalism is itself a structural problem with Your Party" Oliver Eagleton talks to Rodrigo Nunes about the future of Your Party, and the deeper challenges it faces beyond factionalism. https://t.co/QdutYWzc3T

Glad to see that the vote went in favour of targeting support for endorsed candidates rather than maximising the number of candidates. Iβm hoping that the candidates supported by YP consider where Greens are already working hard in and largely avoid standing where it will let in

As a sovereign body, that is their right to decide, but if certain options are taken to maximise the number of candidates standing, that could come at a cost for some Green candidates who have already been campaigning hard for months now.

In the immediate term, the local elections next year present a huge opportunity but unfortunately there is nothing in the organisational strategy about the potential to coordinate with Greens. You can check out the full strategy below and info on local elections is on page 7 and

Iβm naturally a very collaborative person and wish Your Party well with its founding conference over this weekend. It will be interesting to see how it goes and what decisions are made on the options being discussed. As a @TheGreenParty member, my main concern has been around how

I donβt always agree with @campbellclaret and @RoryStewartUK but they are correct here - it was a pretty savage evisceration of the Budget and Reeves! It was probably her best performance yet. Whether it will impact on polling remains to be seen but itβs been a fairly good month
Our boys react to Kemi Badenoch's RUTHLESS attack on Rachel Reeves' Budget... @campbellclaret

In an alternative universe, Labour would have patiently stuck to a more progressive message on immigration in order to wait for figures like this, which go a large way to dispel myths that immigration is out of control β° If they had done this, rather than over reacting to
NEW: Net migration falls sharply to 204,000 in the year to June. Thatβs a fall from 649,000 in the year to June 2024. It is a drop of nearly 80% from its 2023 peak.

The fuel duty freeze must be near the top of my list of most irritating policy decisions over the last 15 years π¬ Every budget, the Government talks about hard decisions that have to be made but then continue the freeze π€· It is a regressive policy that mainly benefits the
Since 2011 the fuel duty freeze has cost the Treasury Β£133 billion. This huge amount could have paid for lower train and bus fares, better stations, safer walking, wheeling and cycling and much more!

There is a legitimate discussion about Greens objecting to renewable energy and its supporting infrastructure (donβt mention pylons!) and perhaps even nuclear, although current party policy remains against this. But itβs no surprise that Greens object to certain projects like

Worth considering next time someone says Greens are a bunch of mega NIMBYs. In terms of housing, itβs definitely not the reality! Some individual Green may object to applications but itβs not at a rate higher than other parties.
Despite claims that Greens are NIMBYs on housing, local authorities where the Green Party holds a majority build a lot more housing than any other.

Glad to see this result. Well done @Plaid_Cymru πΌ The polls were way off in the end indicating what we already know, that they are not very good at picking up on tactical voting! π³οΈ If this type of tactical voting is repeated across the country, it would seriously dent the

Excellent! Well done on those Labour MPs calling for the Chancellor to be bolder and scrap council tax π This is exactly the type of popular policy that @UKLabour should be looking at to demonstrate they are different and to turn around its slump in the polling π

I had wondered where Your Party were at with getting regional assemblies set up, as well as sharing the founding documents and a vote on the name. It doesnβt sound great that some are taking place this weekend without members being invited. Solidarity with all the grassroots

Excellent news for a foggy Monday morning up here! π There is so much hope in the air with all the lovely new enthusiastic members π Itβs time for us to finally breakthrough in North Tyneside at next yearβs election and Iβm looking forward to big progress for our neighbours
π We've done it. We've passed 100,000 Green Party members! π But we're not stopping there. π Let's make hope normal again! Join the Green Party today!

I think this is what is often referred to as a Principal Residence Policy. We actually looked at this when I was a councillor so interesting to see Farage pick it up π
There are several places that have implemented this such as in some of the national parks that are planning
