New York becomes the second state to pass a “Climate Superfund” law, designed to hold superemitters responsible for the costs of their GHG emissions!.
New: Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed the NY climate superfund bill, which will require fossil fuel companies to put up $75B. Here’s the approval message. Sounds like there will be some yet-to-be-seen tweaks, but basic premise of the bill remains intact.

We just finished the 12th Annual Sabin Colloquium on Innovative Environmental Law Scholarship. Four senior and eight junior scholars spent two half days going over the juniors' work and making suggestions. We all learned a great deal. Wonderful crop of up-and-coming scholars.
