Our last 24hrs here at @UPennTrauma & have no doubt this is also happened at many trauma centers across the city & country. When I arrived at work this AM, no news trucks covering, no one asking for comments, no outrage. Astounding how we, as a society, can just look away

Yes, this is why it is so rare….ineffective for this injury/physiology. The often discussed 2010 LAC series: 3/258 EDT organ donors….none of those 3 had cranial GSW #EAST2024.
Grateful to @PennTrauma for moving this discussion forward. We found greater survival & donation in isolated GSW to the brain with CPR in our @EAST_TRAUMA MIT, but couldn’t comment on EDT because use in our series was so rare. #EAST2024
