Honestly think we should unpack lifestyle racism with greater urgency than endlessly debating 'legitimate concerns'.

LLMs are getting better, faster, and smarter, and as they do, we need new ways to use them. Applications build with LLMs have transitioned from asking LLMs to write to letting LLMs drive actions. With that, comes new challenges in developing agentic applications.

It's awaydays for folks who feel stigmatised by football aggro being frowned on, or getting away with something cheeky under cover of 'doing something for the wife and kids'. Lifestyle racists. Lockdown protest to shouting at bairns. Pleasure of being person 'in the know'

I look at the blade runners and racist protesters and paint a big flag folks and think: we probably need just scouts for grown ups where you can drink. The appeal of being naughty, being naughty with people, having a thing to do with evenings/weekends with racist righteousness

And no amount of 'I vastly value my local takeaway / look at what X person who isn't white contributes' makes a jot of difference. Basic human decency: don't be racist. No ifs. No buts. You could be anything but you choose the red, wet mush of hatred. Get to fuck.

But of course, I'm not the right kind of working class white person to have legitimate concerns and no one will get a thrill or a column or a firm blokey handshake from looking at my concerns, worries and fears for my fellow people living in this country.

As one of the whitest people alive I'm legitimately concerned by every fucker selling anyone who isn't white and heterosexual down the river just to get a wink off of a dickhead draped in a flag, saying if we just do the right amount of racism/erasure/prejudice it'll all be gravy

In England particularly, we're living in a time where being a massive racist lets you a) feel like cock of the walk b) gets loads of people who should know better wringing their hands and knighting you legitimately concerned and c) is a right old laugh with the lasses and lads.

I make distinction between stigma against racism and anti racist work. 1st is making it clear racism is wrong and reprehensible. 2nd is destroying the things racism makes. And I'm saying this as a white person with no heritage anywhere but UK. There's no justification for racism

There are people who now would, if truthful, be able to say racism is their hobby. Something to fill evenings and Saturdays with. I'm not saying their racism is inauthentic. I'm saying that the erosion of the stigma against racism makes it viable to choose racism as a core trait

Just as fascism is an aesthetic and mode of social organisation, the racism of the moment is too. Fash may have memed it into being, but lifestyle racism now sits in present british life as a viable option for identity and self expression, which does not require any end objective

I really think we should look at lifestyle racism in the UK. Because, in the way that late capitalism does, racism in the UK is increasingly a lifestyle. It's something miles away from legitimate concerns. It's something people get a return on, either socially or financially.
