Lots to say about @ScotRail’s decision to sack their original announcer voice and to use GayannePotter’s AI voice (Iona) without her express consent or knowledge. @ScotProcurement is supposed to fall under the Fair Work First framework. Gig economy workers included. Diligence ?

In huge news, the UK government was just defeated in the House of Lords for a second time over AI & copyright. The government had removed amendments to the Data Bill that would require AI companies to disclose their training data. The Lords have now reinserted them. Most

Congratulations @paulwfleming - a political mind who takes an interest in the past. The past informs the present. Going forward, @EquityUK must turn away from performative activism/utopianism and be results driven. The devil is in the detail, the membership know the answers.

Delete all IP law, says Jack Dorsey, founder of this platform and of Bluesky . The current owner says the same. Now why would two billionaire tech giants, who control spectacular amounts of data, want that ?

The response from @OpenAI to UK TDM/copyright consultation is full of weasel phrases and really tries to work the *UK has a unique chance to stuff Europe on AI*, angle. I switch off when “commercially sensitive” is used to describe data sets containing stolen/unlicensed data.

s my dad was a musician and as I went to @guildhallschool which trains classical musicians as well as actors, I often cite the plight of instrumentalists in streaming. So glad that @WeAreTheMU are highlighting this. ER in streaming vital for performers. https://t.co/cjMxf4isji

A vote for @paulwfleming is a vote for continuity. Change can feel slow & collectively we’re a hard bunch to please, but the union is doing good work. Paul is about better pay/ conditions for members, has clarity of purpose and has been a galvanising force in the last 5 years.
