I’ve mostly stopped using twitter altogether now for months. It’s full of junk, horrible opinions, and it is desperate to show you both. It insists upon itself. Bluesky is quieter, but like… thank goodness. If for some reason you ever wanted to chat, I’m easy to reach there!.

What it's like to play Minecraft for more than ten years

Got myself all set up now at Bluesky, I'll start posting some exclusive content over there. Watching this counter and estimating 20 million users today!

It’s slow going finding people from this app on the other one, especially with two accounts. But if we follow each other here please feel free to reach out there and I’ll see if we can get some feeling of continuity. It’s about the people, and I don’t want to lose that.

Audiences are about engagement: sometimes you want them to buy things, or talk to you, or form a community together, or spread news. But nothing comes from inflated numbers and a rotten core site. Maybe we’ll do this again in 15 years and the cycle will continue.

Interestingly, this tweet got just under 2,000 views; my following on BlueSky is coming up on 1,000 people. There are a few factors at play here, but my non-analytical take: I’m probably okay making the jump. My follows peaked years ago, and are probably mostly inactive now.
