Heading home from Parker Lecture at SUNY Upstate - amazing history to be walking the halls of Dr Elizabeth Blackwell and down the street from where Dr Mary Edwards Walker became our first female surgeon. I am humbled.

❤️this initiative! The only way for diversity flourish➡️make the path to becoming CTS more equitable. So cool that leaders in our field (@JoChikweMD @SKeshavjee @OuzounianMD) recognized it & set about making it better. 2 paraphrase @MarcMoonMD it won’t improve passively!

Final thoughts: As @MarcMoonMD mentioned during #AATS2022, promoting female inclusivity, productivity, & promotion in #CTsurgery will not occur passively. It requires active targeted approaches, especially during adverse times that disproportionately impact #womeninsurgery (5/5)
