As you know, ferroptosis inhibitors are still far from being used in the clinic, but our findings provide a new way to sensitize cells against them which could facilitate their clinical translation, at least to treat the leading cause of death by cancer in the world, i.e., lung.

Life wasn’t designed. It evolved to be only as perfect as it needs to be to pass on the seed. We never evolved efficient ways to get rid of things that accumulate very slowly: misfolded proteins, misfolded chromatin, cancer driver mutations, etc., which kill us when we’re “old”.
