BTW this "total lack of any work ethic and zero value for human life" is endemic to Indians and crosses all religious, political, class, and caste boundaries.

Would your answer change if you had recruited them?.

If you were the owner of an enterprise, would you allow an incompetent buffoon to gracefully retire on reaching the age of superannuation or would you prefer to fire their arse and send a message to others working for you?.

Since no contractor is ever penalized, they see no reason to build anything that lasts beyond inauguration; sometimes not even till then. This impunity works synergistically with total lack of any work ethic and zero value for human life. Long story short, this ain't improving.

I find it difficult to believe that in a few years India has lost ALL its ability design and build decent roads, bridges, and buildings. The ONLY thing that explains the horrific images we see all the time is that there is a culture of impunity that has crept in.

To sum up. Unemployed youth are to fry and sell pakoras. To get a licence and open a restaurant, they have to bribe officials; spend money they don't have. If they use a street cart, they have to meet strict hygiene standards. After all this, they have to vote for the BJP.
