Our work focuses on leveraging minute-by-minute metabolic hormone time-series to help predict and better understand type 2 diabetes progression, and to generate the kinds of high-resolution datasets that can help close key knowledge gaps in diabetes research.

Using QIRT-ELISA, we tracked insulin and glucagon in awake rats — revealing dynamic hormone trends that conventional ELISA (limited to 15-min intervals) completely miss!

We introduce Quantum dot Integrated Real-Time ELISA (QIRT-ELISA) — a modular microfluidic platform that enables continuous monitoring of insulin and glucagon in whole blood, with 1-min resolution! 🧪✨

We still don’t fully understand how people with pre-diabetes progress to diabetes — largely due to lack of tools for real-time hormone tracking. Our paper (just published in @AdvPortfolio) in collaboration with labs of @SchertzerLab and Ban tackles this gap! #Diabeteshormones
