Some thoughts at the end of #NursesWeek. It’s been one where my heart wasn’t in “celebrating” being a #nurse. The world feels heavy. There is so much suffering. It’s been hard for me to focus. But this is a week of honoring my call to nursing & our future: https://t.co/ZODnzSoZWq

Nurse staffing in sync with pt acuity is consistently linked to better pt outcomes when compared to inadequate staffing. Hospitals undervalue nurses and understaff their units because most of the time, they get away with it. The best nurses’ week gift would be safe staffing.

The public consistently ranks nursing as the most trusted profession. So it's remarkable that employers routinely undervalue — and understaff — such essential workers.
