Nurse staffing in sync with pt acuity is consistently linked to better pt outcomes when compared to inadequate staffing. Hospitals undervalue nurses and understaff their units because most of the time, they get away with it. The best nurses’ week gift would be safe staffing.
The public consistently ranks nursing as the most trusted profession. So it's remarkable that employers routinely undervalue — and understaff — such essential workers.
