The highly talented Stephanie Goodyear has created this poster for SEL in math. The idea is every once in a while have students repeat their goal affirmation, or maybe focus on one line per week and have a weekly affirmation. https://t.co/qeOV8isoYF

We are off to a great start with 7-16. We explored Jamboard to start co-creating our Classroom expectations! We are also showing resilience and working through some tech issues as well.

Removing electronic devices from the classroom today does not prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. Removing discovery, inquiry and problem solving skills today does not prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. The jobs of tomorrow will be full of distractions. #onted

Here's a reminder that EQAO only seems to have one consistent correlation. Wealth = Success. If @fordnation is worried about math scores, he'll tackle poverty not "discovery math" (whatever that is).

How can teachers be expected to ignore the research on effective math instruction which encourages flexibility and agility in using numbers and warns against an emphasis on memorization? A #sketchnote of @joboaler’s article https://t.co/frdR80gHak #OntEd

By saying that all students should be able to finish something in the allotted time assumes all kids learn at the same speed. There is no average time to learn something. #CUE18
