“This is not a one-and-done bill. For sure we have to do at least one more if not two more reconciliations. And again, there's a game plan here of restraining federal spending,” @SenRonJohnson said. “This is the bottom line. This is not easy what we're trying to do.”.

.@GovEvers used his veto to slash funding to the non-partisan Legislative Audit Bureau. That’s the office that investigates state agencies for waste, fraud, and abuse.

Sky's the limit for non-resident state park admission, but there's no floor either. Lawmakers directed the DNR to increase non-resident admission fees by at least $10 but no more than $15. @GovEvers' veto allows the DNR to charge as much or as little as it wants.

Incremental budgeting adjusts off of current spending, which is why the governor can veto spending reductions. @GovEvers did just that. Zero-based budgeting would have simply stated the new amount, which would veto-proof spending cuts like this.

Under the recent budget deal, Republicans agreed with the Governor to raise K-12 funding by 8%, in addition to property taxes already going up by $750,000,000 over the next two years because of the last “deal” with the governor. It's not working.

JFC approved $3.2 billion in borrowing for the new state budget. That's the highest level of bonding in over a decade, and despite starting the fiscal year with a $4.2 budget surplus.

Today's budget "deal" reflects what we've been saying all along. Republican leadership should never have negotiated with Evers. He ran circles around them, leaving WI families with just a $180 "tax cut". It's not working!.

Here is your chance to DIY (DOGE-it-yourself) the WI Budget. We’ve compiled the first master spreadsheet of the State budget to demonstrate that copying and pasting the budget year over year fails Wisconsinites. See what you can find to cut!.

Medicaid work requirements target childless, able-bodied adults who refuse to work. We don’t need to be subsidizing healthcare for 29-year old men who live in their parents basement and play video games all day…. This is common sense, no matter what lies liberals tell you.
