Last week @MWIPproject were delighted to welcome TRH’s the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge to our community re-entry hub @khidmat_centres. This is a welcomed recognition of ground-breaking ‘BAME’ grassroots practice within the CJS & culturally appropriate prisoner resettlement.

The second stop of the day for #RestartaHeart Day representing @LordLtWY at the Bradford Girls Grammar School. Over 300 young girls at the school will be trained in #CPR today by the wonderful volunteers and staff from @YorksAmbulance.

PC Huss was in attendance at the @bcafc_cf #PeerActionCollective celebration event. The Peer Action Collective is youth lead initiative designed to empower young people and amplify their voices in shaping their future. It was a truly inspirational evening. #Youth #YouthLeadership

A few of our favourite moments from the inaugural MACC Academy Awards Dinner which took place at the Howard Suite- Headingley Stadium this week. It is always a privilege to champion young people as they grow and excel, and to raise the bar for opportunity and excellence.

A wonderful Service of Celebration for the town of Huddersfield @HuddsChurch led by Bishop Smitha Prasadam and @RevdRach today. Inspiring speakers reflecting on the town’s past, present and future and great music from young people from Longwood Theatre Productions.

An honour to be amongst friends and represent @LordLtWY at the exhibition for Beyond Time: The Cosmic Tapestry of Hindu Thought held @HuddersfieldUni- Jo Cox Centre earlier this week. Thank you to Kiran Bali MBE, JP for her thought provoking work on this.

It was very inspiring to visit the @TasifKboxer Community Boxing Academy today accompanied by my DL @MWIPproject. They are doing such great work with boys and girls and young adults, providing vital physical and life skills and role models for the young people.

Grateful for your support as always @saffysaffron. Visibility of the context and cultural dynamics these women face is very important, if they are to receive timely and appropriate support. Yasmin was incredibly powerful and forthright in her delivery, very proud of her.

We screened the Inside Out- MWIP film @LeedsTrinity as part of @unlockedgrads training programme for Prison Officers on Bank Holiday Monday. The discussions on cultural competence and awareness prompted deep reflection and there was a real sense of curiosity and learning.

I had the privilege of joining colleagues for a deeply moving discussion at the screening of #Holloway — a powerful & raw documentary that follows the return of six women to Holloway Prison, just before it was demolished. #HollowayPrison #Justice #journeys

PC Hanif & PC Dean attended @khidmat_centres to discuss safeguarding topics - domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence, Claire’s & Sarah’s Law. Womens group showed great interest in understanding perpetrator behaviours like gaslighting & coercive control.

A wonderful gathering of sisters @khidmat_centres to celebrate 78th Independence Day of Pakistan. Massive congratulations all around, and thank you to the sisters for making this a memorable fun day.

A pleasure to represent @LordLtWY yesterday at at the South Asian Heritage Month Celebration hosted by the Asian Blind Association in Leeds. With over 170 people in attendance, it was a vibrant celebration of culture, history & pride led by @ABALeeds staff & users.

It was a pleasure to represent @LordLtWY at the ‘Igniting Dreams’ conference headed by Nana Hagan at City Hall yesterday. A splendid day sharing, celebrating and inspiring women & girls from black and brown communities into business and entrepreneurship.
